EXPERT VISIT PRESENTATION OF ETWINNING OPPORTUNITIES AND SCHOOL PROJECTS
ERASMUS +
On 5th and 6th June 2025, I was invited as a guest expert to Liceo Eugenio Montale, Roma, Italy, our partner school in Erasmus + project to share insights into the eTwinning platform and highlight our school's active participation in international collaboration projects.
The session began with an introduction of the objectives and values of eTwinning, emphasizing how it fosters intercultural understanding, digital competence, and active student engagement through cross-border partnerships as well as improves motivation for learning. I outlined how eTwinning projects can be integrated into regular teaching to enhance 21st-century skills and promote civic responsibility.
During the presentation, I showcased several successful projects implemented at our school, including A Bridge Between art, Geometry and Sustainability: ORIGAMI, Special days in the Danube Region, Conscious Citizens in the Digital World and Let’s Go Outside. These examples illustrate how collaborative work with European partner schools has empowered students to explore topics such as cultural heritage, sustainability, and media literacy in creative and meaningful ways.
Teachers and school leaders expressed strong interest in the practical benefits and ease of integrating eTwinning into their own teaching practices. The discussion and evaluation of the workshop that followed focused on how to initiate projects, find partners, and align activities with the curriculum.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session and expressions of intent from several staff members to join the eTwinning community. It was an inspiring exchange that reinforced the power of collaboration and innovation in education.
I thank my colleague – the Erasmus + coordinator at Liceo Eugenio Montale, Roma, Daniela Pietrasanta and the principal Mr Rossi for inviting me to their school and giving me the opportunity to talk about eTwinning and present our projects to colleagues from Liceo Eugenio Montale Roma.
